The Apple Gold Group, franchisee of Applebee’s restaurants in North Carolina, Oklahoma and Arkansas, is proud to partner with Bayou Rescue, a non-profit organization that provides care and shelter for animals in low-income families that have been impacted by natural disasters, to host a Flapjack Fundraiser on Saturday, August 14, 2010. Proceeds raised will directly benefit the organization and support operating costs. Breakfast includes a short stack of pancakes, sausage, milk, juice and coffee.

The V Foundation is hosting its fifth annual Racquets for Research tennis tournament with celebrity guest Don Johnson. Johnson is a 2001 men’s doubles Wimbledon champion. Tennis enthusiasts from around the triangle can gather together for a day of fun and philanthropy. There will be a ProAm tournament in which participants can compete against the pros. The N-C-E-E-S courses Fundamentals of Engineering (F-E) Review and the Professional Engineering (P-E) in Mechanical Engineering Review will be held concurrently on ten Saturdays; August 14th through October 23rd, from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in McNair Hall on the NC A&T State University campus.
