| | Tools & Toys: The History of Play 2-3pm (Kids) On Saturday, August 7, from 2:00p.m. to 3:00p.m., learn about the history of play through hands-on activities with the toys of our past. We will explore how toys have changed over time, how they were made and used, and talk about the toys of our future. Kids will get a chance to play historic games and make a buzz saw to take home. Buzz saws date back to the Colonial era and were a popular noisemaker that sounds like a buzzing saw. This easy to make toy is fun for all ages. Admission to this program is free. |
| | Applebee’s Flapjack Fundraiser to Support Horse Rescue Group 7:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. (Charity) The Apple Gold Group, franchisee of Applebee’s restaurants in North Carolina, Oklahoma and Arkansas, is proud to partner with the United States Equine Rescue League to host a Flapjack Fundraiser on Saturday, August 7, 2010. All proceeds raised will go towards rehabilitation expenses for rescued horses. Breakfast includes a short stack of pancakes, sausage, milk, juice and coffee. |
| | Applebee's Flapjack Fundraiser (for the U.S. Equine Rescue League) 7:30am - 9:30am (Charity) Come join us at Applebee's Neighborhood Bar & Grill (8701 Brier Creek Parkway, Raleigh, NC 27617) for a flapjack breakfast! This is a fundraiser to support the U.S. Equine Rescue League (USERL), a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, protection and rehabilitation of abused and abandoned horses. Tickets are $7 per person, and can pre-purchased at www.userl.org or on the day of the event. Come help us help the horses! |
